1. What is crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding allows project creators to present their ideas to a wide audience. These ideas may be in the form of a book, CD, film, program or invention, for example. If the audience sees merit in a project, they can help bring the idea to life by pledging their support in return for a reward. Crowdfunding is not charity. You are not donating your money; you are supporting a person, business or organisation, by ‘backing’ the production of their idea.
2. Why have I decided on crowdfunding for ‘Digby’s Moon Mission’?
I have every faith in the product I have created and want to share it with the world. I believe crowdfunding provides a worthwhile promotional avenue for my book and me as a writer. If my campaign is successful, I can be assured that 300 people (minimum) will be bringing Digby Fixit into their homes and hopefully fall in love with him so that they will spread the word and want to see more Digby Fixit adventures! I think this opportunity is a wonderful starting point for any artist wishing to get their name and brand seen and heard.
3. I want to support Digby’s Moon Mission by pre-ordering the book for $20 and/or pledging another amount for additional rewards. How do I do this?
Firstly, thank you!!
From 12pm this Friday, 18th July, visit www.pozible.com/DigbyFixit. This will take you to my project page where you will see the list of pledge amounts (and rewards offered). Click on the amount/reward you choose (e.g. ‘book pre-order’) and follow the prompts for payment.
4. Can I pledge more than once throughout the campaign?
5. Can I pre-order multiple copies of the book and other rewards?
6. What payment methods are accepted?
Direct debit/credit and PayPal
7. Is the money taken from my account immediately?
No, it will become a pending payment until the final day of the campaign (6th Sept). Reason being is that I have to meet my target of $6000 in the required time-frame otherwise my project is deemed ‘unsuccessful’ and payments are not processed. You will not be charged if I don’t meet the target.
8. Ok, so you have to reach the $6000 – what if you go over?
The target amount is allowed to be exceeded and any funds over $6000 will be put towards online and bookstore distribution, additional print copies of the book, website start-up and the book’s launch. SO PLEASE, keep pledging right up until the final day of the campaign.
9. What exactly is the $6000 needed for?
It will cost me $6000+ to have the book illustrated, designed and published, ISBN and bar code allocated, printed, posted to supporters (as well as production of additional rewards).
Pozible also take a fee if my project is successful, which has been included in the target amount.
10. How and when is the book delivered?
When you make payment via Pozible, you will be asked to supply your postal address. I then access this list once the campaign ends, so that I can personally send you your copies once printed. We are aiming for the book to be available in December… hopefully, in time for Christmas! 🙂
11. Where can I find more information?
All will be revealed on my project page Friday, 18th July from 12pm. The web address is http://www.pozible.com/DigbyFixit.
Until Friday, the address can not be accessed.
You can also send me a private message via Digby’s Facebook’s page www.facebook.com/DigbyFixit.
Thank you for reading! 🙂
