At-home craft is great fun for all ages! To make sure you have a variety of materials handy for little hands to get creative, Create It Kids has put together a list of supplies that you may find useful when collecting materials for home craft. This list is a collaboration of our own ideas, and those of CIK Facebook members. Please feel free to comment below with additions you’d like to make to the list 🙂
canvas (from a discount store is perfect)
paddle pop sticks
cotton balls/felt balls
foam cut-outs (shapes, letters, numbers)
fabric – varied textures
USEFUL ITEMS AND TOOLS
textas (thick and thin)
staples and stapler
double sided tape
glue pots and sticks
wool or string for hand sewing
It’s also a good idea to have paint shirts and/or aprons handy as well… and something to protect your table and floor! 🙂
Where and how to store all of these materials can become a little tricky, especially if you have limited space. The image attached was sent to CIK via Facebook, by one of our members, Tessa. She has utilised tackle boxes for storage of her kids’ craft supplies which is a fantastic idea.
Other storage options could be labelled, clear plastic boxes for each section of materials, cheap shelving/drawers from discount stores, allowing labels to appear on the front of drawers, basket shelves (used in the same way as drawers).
Be sure to keep any dangerous items out of young children’s reach, especially when not in use.
Let’s get crafty!
