WOW! What a glorious time I had, presenting Digby Fixit Live! at this year’s Newcastle Writers Festival. A big thank you to Julie Swane from Newcastle Regional Libraries and NWF board members, for this amazing opportunity. I had a blast!
Thursday 31st March saw Digby set-up in the Link Gallery at the beautiful Newcastle Museum, ready for three delightful school groups to take part in the Digby Fixit Live! experience. Each group thoroughly enjoyed meeting Digby and helping him fatten up the moon. We engaged in lovely conversation about the moon, stories and creating picture books. Thank you for coming along, kids and teachers!
Digby also made an appearance at Saturday’s Family Fun Day, held in Laman Street and Newcastle Library, on April 2nd. Digby and I took to the stage at an almighty pace, dazzling an enthusiastic, young audience and their families with our crazy moon-antics! 🙂
It was an honour to present alongside such fine authors and illustrators. Star-struck! 🙂
Digby Fixit Live! is coming to Hunter Wetlands Centre, these school holidays! From 10am Thursday, 14th April, come and see Digby’s Moon Mission brought to life by children’s author and performer, Renee Price (and Digby, of course!).
Following the show, Renee will be holding a book signing. There’s also craft and a Wetlands Reptile Encounter for all who attend!
Bookings are essential! Click here for ticket information.
Digby Fixit Live! will be performed for three primary school bookings on Thursday 31st March at Newcastle Museum. There will also be a chance for the general public to catch Digby on Saturday, 2nd April on the Laman St stage, just outside the front entrance to Newcastle Regional Library. This forms part of the Family Fun Day and is a FREE event. I will be available for a book signing, following the performance.
If you would like to come along, Digby Fixit Live! kicks off at 11.30am!

In 2015, Book Week (hosted by the Children’s Book Council of Australia) will run from August 22nd – 28th with the theme – ‘Books Light Up Our World’. In ‘light’ of this, Romi Sharp, founder of Just Write For Kids Blog, has compiled a gorgeous list of children’s books and accompanying activity ideas (it’s a two-part-post so stay tuned to the page!)
I’m thrilled to announce I’m part of the #JustWriteForKidsOZ team as a regular blogger. Just Write For Kids is the fresh face on the children’s books block, committed to engaging and supporting others in the Australian children’s literature community, including authors, illustrators and teachers.
On the second Saturday of each month, I will be posting articles about my writing experience, becoming a published author, hints and tips for writing in the children’s lit field, and lots more! I feel honoured to be part of such a wonderful team.
My first post is now live! This month, I share my story about what brought me to writing – Click HERE to check it out.
